Our Favorite Ingredient: Olive Oil

When we’re asked what our favorite product is, we all cringe! It’s like choosing your favorite child or favorite candy bar. At the end of the day, it’s really hard to nail down a specific product that has everything we want in one bar or jar. Luckily, we can all agree on our favorite ingredient. Olive Oil.

As you might know, olive oil is the liquefied fat from olives, sourced by pressing whole olives. You’ve probably seen different labels on olive oils at the farmers market or your local grocer.. That’s because different olives result in different varieties or grades of olive oil: the variety you add to your salad is different than what you cook with or what is included in our soap.

We use an unscented variety of olive oil as a base for a lot of our bars and creams. It’s enriched with olive leaf extract – making it full of nutrients and antioxidants. It’s often overlooked for more exotic oils. We’d like to think we haven’t fallen for that trap!

The nutrients and antioxidants in olive oil exist because of two main ingredients of olive oil: vitamins A and E. Both vitamins are huge helpers in keeping moisture in your skin and keeping bad things out. Vitamin A fights wrinkles and calms acne while Vitamin E serves as an antioxidant and helps repair your skin.

Although we can’t agree on the best product in our shop, we can still agree on olive oil being the supreme ingredient in our products. Click here to buy your bar!
