Sallye Sunshine: The Ultimate Summer Soap

Sallye Sunshine was made with my daughter, Sallie, in mind. As a child, she never had anything but a smile on her face, so a bar like this made sense as her soap namesake.

Sallye Sunshine bars are made with a blend of citrus oils and calendula flowers. To smell them is to smell summer in soap.

The origins of the ingredients are even richer than the scent. Calendula is called a pot marigold from France but it is not really a marigold, as it’s true origins are in the Aster family. Their most primary use in salves and ointments is wound and trauma treatment. We use a blend of essential citrus oils from the rinds of grapefruit, mandarin oranges, and lemons. These oils have numerous benefits, including healing properties, water retention and anti-depressant properties. Because of all these benefits, the bar is very gentle and should be used as a moisturizing agent.
