Looking for an easy, fun family activity that gets everyone outside? Look no further than the Roosevelt Farm Lane Trail in Hyde Park. This scenic trail is nestled behind the Hyde Park Drive-In Theatre and across from the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site.
This lovely trail winds through a variety of upland and wetland habitats and includes a bridge crossing over the Maritje Kill. This trail is well-marked and mostly flat, making this an excellent choice for families with little hikers, casual walkers, or four-legged friends. Along the route, you'll find plenty of benches where you can take a break, enjoy the scenery, or even stop for a picnic.
I walked this trail throughout much of my pregnancy, often with my two dogs by my side. It was a wonderful way to stay active while recharging in nature. Over time, I've learned that spending time outdoors is one of the best forms of self-care you can give yourself, and this trail offers a peaceful escape that's close to home.
This July, we're celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month by getting outside, exploring nature, and appreciating the beautiful parks and trails that make the Hudson Valley such a special place to call home.
