Made with the natural wax of the bayberry shrub, these classic candles have been part of American holiday traditions since colonial times. Traditionally, bayberry candles are burned to the nub on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, a ritual said to bring good luck and prosperity in the year ahead.
Each pair is hand-dipped on an original 1850 carousel wheel, then individually hand-strung, preserving a time-honored process that celebrates the history, scent, and beauty of true bayberry candles.
The first 25 dips are made with 100% pure bayberry wax, followed by three final dips in a blend of 80% bayberry wax and 20% beeswax. This traditional process gives the candles their rich color, natural fragrance, strength, and a clean, steady burn.
Over time, you may notice a soft, natural white bloom forming on the surface. This is a characteristic of genuine bayberry wax and a beautiful reminder that these candles are made with real, natural ingredients.
